Timeline

1985

PMT was created as a family startup

1986

Moved to a small industrial space as our capabilities increased and our customer base expanded

1990

Opened PMT South, in La Feria, Texas, with Abe Pena at the helm

1991

We expanded PMT North into a 10,000 sq. ft. facility and increased diversity with focus on automotive

1995

PMT North added a custom building for a 22,000 sq.ft. manufacturing facility, with a vision toward expansion and molding

1995

The company entered the global market by opening PMT Mexico in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico, and added capability of off-shore mold production in China

1999

We developed an in-house molding division to allow clients to see a product from conception to packaging

2016

PMT rebranded as Precision Group to launch a global brand that spans a spectrum of markets and capabilities

2017

We started the Institute of American Manufacturing Apprenticeship Program with approval from the Department of Labor

In operation since 1985, Precision Group, is committed to understanding and exceeding our customers’ expectations and producing finished products and services that instill pride for all involved in the project. In order to achieve our goals, the management team has implemented a Quality Management System (QMS) that complies with the international standard ISO 9001:2008 as well as all legal and regulatory requirements.

To meet our commitment, Precision Group continually monitors, measures, and improves the QMS. All personnel within this organization are responsible for the quality of their work; the management team provides the resources for continual training, support, and evaluation. The internal business model is focused on prevention of risk, analysis of potential opportunity, and enhancement of customer satisfaction. This policy is communicated to all Precision Group employees, customers, and organizations working for or on our behalf.

Society of Plastic Engineers

The Society of Plastic Engineers is home to nearly 16,000 plastics professionals, in more than 84 countries around the world and is the “go to” resource for plastics technical information. In 2014, Precision Group was instrumental in the reinstatement of the Central Texas Section of the Society of Plastic Engineers.


San Antonio Manufacturers Association

Precision Group is actively involved with the San Antonio Manufacturers Association. SAMA is the voice of and advocate for the manufacturing industry in the greater San Antonio metropolitan area.


Alamo Inventors Association

Precision Group acts as a resource for individuals at the Alamo Inventors’ meetings. Local inventors and entrepreneurs participate in these meetings in search of resources that can assist in the production of their products. Precision Group provides assistance in creating products and bringing them to market.


The District Export Council – Texas Camino Real Region

The District Export Councils contribute leadership and international trade expertise to complement the U.S. Commercial Service’s export promotion efforts through counseling businesses on the exporting process and conducting trade education and community outreach. The primary objectives of the DEC are to educate the community about free trade and its benefits, and include “how to” education to promote exports by companies in our area.


F.I.R.S.T. Robotics Competition and Women in Engineering

Precision Group was a lead sponsor for the 2014 Alamo Region FIRST Robotics Competition. This event was organized by SASTEMIC. As part of the day, we were also a lead sponsor for the Women In Engineering Luncheon.
